Join the team
As a Service Designer you will be a part of Kmart’s newly created Innovation Squad, that will lead the development of new initiatives by building and creating ‘first of their kind’ technology in retail. This team will transform the way Kmart interacts with their customers in the future through the digitalization of stores.
What you’ll be doing
As a Service Designer you’ll
- Work cross functionally on projects directly related to improving how our stores operate
- Identify customer pain points and develop appropriate exploration process to create solutions
- Be responsible for the design, implementation or delivery of processes and programs
- Analysing potential project areas, testing new ideas and creating a solution
- Lead design and customer research actives to understand and communicate insights
- Build and maintain excellent working relationships across a range of stakeholders
- Have a pro-active approach to exploring new technologies that can be used during innovation projects
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- Experience working collaboratively with partners and cross-functional team members
- Participation in design-led innovation projects using human centred design or design thinking methodology
- Demonstrated expertise in developing new products and/or services
- Demonstrated experience in applying design research methods and translating insights into opportunities for innovation
- Experience working in physical and digital project environments
- Ability to explore and implement emerging technologies into the projects
- Familiarity with Figma, Mirror or similar tools
- A background in Retail or similar domains is desirable
