We are seeking a dynamic and engaging leader for our Head of Profit Protection to develop and implement comprehensive strategies to prevent fraud, theft, and other forms of profit loss across both our iconic brands. Together, Kmart and Target form a dynamic retail powerhouse, committed to delivering exceptional value and innovative shopping experiences to millions of customers.

In this role you will lead dedicated profit protection and fraud investigations teams, conduct thorough investigations, and collaborate with the operations team to reduce shrinkage. Our Head of Profit Protection will also collaborate across the business, including the sourcing, supply chain, merchandise, finance, legal, and IT departments, to identify and mitigate risks.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop, implement and lead comprehensive strategies to reduce shrinkage.
  • Collaborate with store operations to enhance physical and procedural security measures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential fraud as well as mitigate risks related to theft and other forms of profit loss.
  • Lead and manage the profit protection and fraud investigation teams.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation plans ensuring alignment of profit protection strategies with overall business goals.
  • Perform management of ROI of technology and vendors providing investigation techniques.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including operations, sourcing, supply chain, merchandise, finance, legal, and technology to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Engage and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, including the wider Wesfarmers board.
  • Effectively manages budgets for profit protection team and initiatives, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Minimum of 5+ years Loss Prevention experience.
  • Leadership experience leading teams with at least 5+ direct reports.
  • Proven experience in Strategy Development.
  • Strong skills in engaging & collaborating with stakeholders of all levels.
  • Experience with board reporting and high level stakeholder communication
  • The ability to analyse complex data and identify patterns, trends and anomalies.
  • The ability to develop and implement long-term strategies to achieve business goals.
  • The ability to understand and manage financial aspects related to profit protection, including budgeting, cost analysis and financial reporting.
