ABOUT THE ROLE
The position exists to undertake structural design activities to ensure Metro’s principles and standards are met.
Based at our offices in the CBD, this role is offered on full time permanent basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop designs to IFC for a variety of structures, including bridges, crash beams, masts, retaining walls, ladders.
- Ensure that design activities meet the established Metro requirements, covering both existing structures and those in development.
- Apply infrastructure and engineering standards as guidelines for developing designs.
- Identify and address non-conformances with design standards, recommending waivers when necessary to the Track and Structures Design Review Manager
- Provide valuable technical advice to both internal teams and external stakeholders involved in projects.
- Ensure strict adherence to legislative and regulatory requirements throughout the design process.
- Contribute to safety assessments, including Safety in Design initiatives, and participate in peer reviews as required.
- Support the organization's broader objective of maximizing the technical knowledge base, aligning activities with company objectives and strategic goals.
ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering suitable for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia or an appropriate technical qualification with proven industry capability acceptable to MTM
- 5-8 years of structural design experience
- Holder of relevant RIW competency; MTM Designer
- Substantial experience providing service across multiple business areas in a large organisation
