About the role

Metro Trains Melbourne is looking for our next group of trainees who are eager to start an exciting career with Metro Trains as a Trainee Train Driver. Whether you are looking for a fresh start, a career change or just a chance to make a difference, we provide the support you need to thrive.

Our Trainee Train Driver program offers an exciting opportunity to embark on a career that is rewarding, dynamic, and impactful. This fully paid traineeship provides comprehensive training, preparing you to operate safely and efficiently across our Metro network.

As a Train Driver, you will be at the forefront of Melbourne's public transport system whilst working a 24/7 rotating roster. include:

- Gain hands-on experience during 55 weeks of full-time paid training through our Metro Academy.

- Perform duties that are both stimulating and challenging whilst providing a high reward.

Upon successful completion of the traineeship, you will be required to work in a full-time capacity at the following Depot based on business needs:

  • Pakenham East

**Successful candidates will need to live within a reasonable location from one or more of these Depots**

About You

We are looking for motivated and energetic individuals who:

  • Motivated and eager to learn new skills in line with an intensive study schedule.
  • Passionate about Zero Harm and delivering exceptional and reliable services to our passengers.
  • Strong communication skills with a team-oriented mindset and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Flexible to work shifts outside standard hours, including weekends and public holidays. Early mornings, evening and overnight shift work is also an essential part of this role.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.

The organisation is unable to accommodate pre-existing holidays in some instances. Please keep this in mind when considering applying for this Traineeship.
