About the role

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager position exists to support the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide mental health and wellbeing program. The role is required to develop, implement. and monitor health and wellbeing initiatives, support the development and implementation of a psychosocial risk framework, develop measures to monitor the success of programs and promote programs to ensure optimal uptake. This role will manage a small team, located at our Head Office 700 Collins Street.

  • - Drive the development, implementation and governance of mental health and wellbeing initiatives and programs that support strategic key objectives.

  • - Provide leadership and expert advice to support the Safety department to develop and implement the psychosocial risk management framework.

  • - Provide leadership and expert advice to support Workplace Relations to develop and implement the Respect@Work roadmap.

  • - Collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups including managing third party vendor relationships as part of the broader strategy.

  • - Review and develop policies, standards and procedures associated with workplace mental health and wellbeing.

  • - Oversee the design, development, and delivery of leadership training programs in the wellbeing and psychosocial safety risk management arena, which may include travel to sites.

  • - Develop measures and targets to determine the success of the individual programs developed and assist in the creation of accessible and accurate wellbeing metrics for the leadership teams.

  • - Ensure initiatives are delivered within budget and commercial contracts deliver best value for service.

  • - Contribute to the achievement of the Diversity and Inclusion team’s strategic objectives by providing leadership and support as needed.

  • - Ensure timely, accessible, and accurate wellbeing metrics and insights reporting is available to decision makers throughout the enterprise. This includes provision of information and recommendations to senior leaders, the executive group and Board.

About You

  • Relevant experience and general psychology registration with APHRA.
  • 5 years’ experience in a Workplace Wellbeing/Organisational Psychologist role
  • Previous experience leading a small team and/or mentoring a group.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the development of dashboards and metrics to demonstrate the value of workplace wellbeing initiatives to the business and to monitor achievement of business goals.
  • Experience in the development and continuous improvement of wellbeing programs within large or complex environments
  • Requirement to work onsite a minimum of 3-4 days per week.
  • Capability to apply discretion and sound judgment in managing sensitive matters and highly confidential or sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practice and legislation relevant to workplace mental health and wellbeing.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills, with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management experience to work collaboratively and build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders in a complex and politically and industrially sensitive environment.
  • Solid report writing, analytical ability and critical thinking with the ability to work autonomously whilst managing a budget.
