The Opportunity

The Marine Safety Superintendent will provide technical direction maintaining Health, Safety, Environment and Compliance (HSEC) excellence in delivering marine services to the Onlsow Iron Ore project.

This role involves having strong stakeholder engagement with the ability to manage our regulatory requirements and establishing a Marine Safety Management system to maintain compliance at high standards.

This position will report directly to the Marine Standard Manager and you will be based at our HQ office on Osborne Park, and joining a great team culture with strong career pathway opportunities.

Your primary responsibilities may include;

  • Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of marine HSEC documents.
  • Provide coaching and technical advice to encourage compliance with MSMS.
  • Lead/ involvement in incident management, reporting and investigation.
  • Monitor compliance with MSMS and relevant laws.
  • Lead risk assessments aimed at improving HSEC standards.

What is required

  • 5-10 Years workforce similar marine HSEC experience
  • Bachelors degree in Health and Safety (or higher)
  • Root Cause Analysis (Lead) Investigator (ICAM, TapRoot)
  • Designated People Assure (DPA) / Company Security Officer (CSO) or alternate Marine Qualifications (desirable)
  • Implementation of Marine Safety Management Systems
  • Liaison with AMSA (and other Regulators)
  • Proactive mindset and supportive team attitude
  • Ability to drive own work agenda and work autonomously
  • Valuable team member, collaborating and engaging.
  • High level of initiative, planning and drive to deliver outcomes.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills.
