The Opportunity
Reporting to the Principal Community Engagement, this role is responsible for providing on the ground support to the Communities and Stakeholder Engagement team in building proactive relationships for the Onslow Iron project, and better enhancing MinRes’ external activities and social license to operate.
You will be the key driver for MinRes’ day-to-day stakeholder obligations and commitments in Onslow. Additionally, you will actively work with external stakeholders in the community to identify challenges and opportunities for MinRes to further explore.
The Community Engagement Officer will be implementing relevant components of MinRes’ community relations strategy, including managing local community partnerships, as well as providing administrative support to the Communities and Stakeholder Engagement team as required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support and engagement to external stakeholders in the community of Onslow, and build mutually agreeable relationships as identified and directed.
  • Actively work with external stakeholders to build positive business support and reputation.
  • Assist with the delivery of relevant stakeholder obligations to ensure compliance.
  • Support the development and implementation of a localised Communications Strategy
  • Develop and effectively deliver MRL stakeholder engagement action plans to communicate upcoming work and mitigate potential risks.
  • Provide administration support to the Communities and Stakeholder Engagement team.
What is Required
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field is not essential but would be highly regarded
  • Previous Stakeholder Engagement officer/advisor experience
  • Previous experience in mining industry will be highly regarded
  • Experience in forward facing stakeholder engagement or customer service role
  • Experience in managing and implementing communications activities
  • Reliable, energetic and a problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to work in a variety of regional locations and adapt to flexible working environments.
  • Ability to drive own work agenda and work autonomously
  • Valuable team member, collaborating and engaging.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills.
  • Current full Manual C Class Driver’s License
