The Opportunity
The Social Impact Planner position is responsible for leading and contributing to whole-of-Council planning and practices towards gender and social equity, to support Moonee Valley's vision of a Healthy, Fair, Thriving, Connected, Green and Beautiful city.
Reporting to the Coordinator Corporate and Social Planning, you will be an advocate for equitable social outcomes for the Moonee Valley community and support the organisation in addressing key social needs across policy, planning and delivery of programs, services, and initiatives.
Positioned within Council's Community and Corporate Planning department, you will act as the hub for centralising strategy and communications for gender equity across the organisation, in addition to implementing projects to measure Council's social impact.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary or post graduate qualifications in social planning or impact, gender studies, community planning, community development, social science or a related field.
- Sound knowledge of the strategic role and direction of contemporary social planning, particularly with regard to gender equity, diversity and social inclusion within Local, State and Commonwealth government.
- Knowledge and experience of policy development, project planning and implementation, program evaluation and impact measurement within a gender equity and/or social policy context.
- Demonstrated experience in engagement and consultation to operate positively in partnership environments linking national, state and local government and community sectors.
