Senior Solution Engineer – DWDM Transport
We have an exciting opportunity at nbn, as a Senior Solution Engineer for DWDM Transport technology.
A bit about your role
The Senior Solution Engineer is a position within SEO and reports to the Senior Manager, Solution Engineering & Network Delivery. The role contributes to Solution Engineering and Delivery within nbn’s System Engineering and Operations (SEO) division. Delivery Teams develop new nbn network capabilities to enable nbn business and operational objectives. In the context of these responsibilities, the Senior Solution Engineer is a key contributor within the Delivery Team for Solution Engineering and network capability designs including Detailed Design configuration (CLI), deployment guides, alarm plans, planning rules, level 4 network support, vendor management and Technology Community of Practice (TCOP) participation.
The Senior Solution Engineer develops and maintains strong relationships with other stakeholders including Senior Manager, Delivery Manager, Iteration Manager, Architects, Engineers and other solution stakeholders. The Senior Solution Engineer works collaboratively within a team of engineers providing design, support and guidance to stakeholders and acts as a role model for less experienced engineers. You are responsible for developing high quality production network configurations and associated deliverables, network & system integration testing and test plans to implement, enhance and augment nbn’s production network.
A bit about you
The successful candidate will have experience in DWDM design, configuration, testing of DWDM Transport network technologies and platforms with a strong willingness to learn further. In-depth understanding of end-to-end telecommunication network solutions and technologies, protocols, and associated element management platforms. Experience with Agile delivery methodology is desirable.
The ideal candidate is an individual who has experience with development of new telecommunication transmission network capabilities and is a subject matter expert of DWDM systems including Network Elements and Transport EMS. Experience in detailed solution design of new telecommunication network capabilities, lifecycle upgrades, transmission network configuration and testing. Experience with Red Hat linux package installation and integration. The ideal candidate will also have experience in IP/MPLS Routing & Switching design, configuration, test and troubleshooting in Cisco software with a strong willingness to learn further. Strong communication and collaboration skills are a must.
