About the role

Based in Brisbane the Senior Implementation Advisor / Project Manager is responsible for advising on matters relating to heavy vehicle regulation and a range of operational issues relating to effective delivery of a range of regulatory services. Working closely with a range of NHVR business areas and with jurisdictional service delivery partners to develop future-state policies, procedures and initiatives that ensure the NHVR’s identified regulatory objectives and service standards are met.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Some of the key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Review policies, procedures, operating practices and project documentation for a range of regulatory services identified for transition.
  • Prepare and review policy advice to ensure alignment with policy directions.
  • Prepare a range of complex documents including options analysis, business cases, reports, business processes, project documentation and other sensitive correspondence.
  • Undertake research and analysis, reviewing alternatives in relation to policy deliverables and other initiatives, to contribute to the policy and project process and to inform decision making.
  • Liaise with staff in other jurisdictions to establish appropriate national best-practice benchmarks.
  • Work autonomously and actively participate in multidisciplinary teams providing informed policy and technical advice, options and recommendations to inform decisions.
  • Use personal initiative to proactively advance policy and project programs of work.
  • Build and maintain networks and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise closely with NHVR business areas to identify potential policy and procedural gaps.
  • Develop project documentation and participate in project delivery for a range of corporate initiatives including the introduction of new regulatory technologies and modernisation of regulatory approaches.

About You

As the ideal candidate, you will have 4+ years’ experience in Implementation / Project Management, having experience with preparing and implementing policies. You will have a curious nature and enjoy working with various stakeholders to deliver on multitude of faced paced mini projects. You will have a solution focused positive mindset who enjoys working part of a team to deliver on exceptional outcomes.

You will have:

  • 4+ years’ experience in as a in Implementation / Project Manager
  • Demonstrated experience in policy / procedural development or similar roles such as project delivery in a complex and fast paced environment.
  • Experience and prior working knowledge of national heavy vehicle reform initiatives, heavy vehicle legislation and the heavy vehicle industry will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience with a delivering on mini competing projects at once.
  • Experience liaising with senior level stakeholders across government and industry.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications highly desirable.
