Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman SSSD is seeking a Logistics Engineer to become a member of the Ground Terminal and Infrastructure Department, working as part of a motivated, diverse, and technically talented group located at a field site in Alice Springs, AU.
This role requires a two (2) year commitment and the ability to successfully pass a physical and psychological exam. Ability to work odd and/or extended hours covering a 24/7 period and periodic rotating 12-hour shifts

Role Description
The Logistics Engineer will be responsible for tracking, shipping, cataloging, and documenting critical equipment, spares, parts, and components in support of the Ground Terminal and Infrastructure Engineers. The Logistics Engineer will work closely with GT&IEs and System Engineers to make sure all equipment impacted by new installations or decommissions are tracked, documented and handled accordingly. This role is vital to mission sustainability and gets to work with multiple departments across multiple disciplines at a unique and exciting location.
Supports and assists activities within multiple disciplines across the Supply Chain process.
Provides technical, tactical and execution support in various aspects of the industry standard supply chain business process areas primarily Supply Chain Logistics.
These employees are primarily responsible for the manual movement, shipping and receiving of materials.
Ensure that incoming items are in good condition and match the paperwork.
Track equipment and sparing levels and assist Engineering team with shipping and receiving.
Work with other departments on site to properly document and ship and receive equipment.
COMSEC Responsible Officer responsibilities – tracking, inventory, and documentation for cryptographic equipment and items.
Prepare items for shipment and work closely with distant end personnel.
Data input into inventory system, tracking, locating and issuing materials
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with ten (10) years of relevant experience; OR Masters Degree with eight (8) year of relevant experience; OR fifteen (15) years of experience in lieu of degree
Experience using and/or querying Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as SAP in support of programs or specific functional operations (e.g. Global Supply Chain, production scheduling, Materials Requirement Planning).
Ability to develop and present presentations both written and verbally to diverse levels of the organization and outside stakeholders
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel
The successful candidate must also be able to satisfy the following physical demands: Ability to work on elevated structures at heights of ~100 feet, Ability to climb stairs (~300 stairs/day), Ability to lift and carry ~45lbs, Ability to work in narrow and confined spaces
Active in scope TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
Preferred Qualifications
Forklift experience or ability to learn/qualify
Experience tracking serial numbers and model numbers and sparing levels.
Security/COMSEC experience
