We’re on the hunt for a Reliability Engineer across mechanical disciplines to join our dynamic manufacturing team based at our Laverton Global Head Office. As our Reliability Engineer, you’ll be ensuring the reliability of all mechanical plant assets that are employed across our MHF site. You’ll have a key focus on improving asset reliability that could otherwise adversely affect plant or business operations. In addition, the role will support Nufarm’s asset inspection program and liaise with the maintenance planners and trades to ensure inspection task are executed in a safe, sustainable manner.

What will you be doing?

  • Reviewing the performance of critical equipment and putting plans in place to improve the Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) of this equipment. Including the creation and management of equipment criticality process

  • Review pressure vessel and piping inspection reports and perform basic fitness-for-service evaluations or prepare repair procedures

  • Carry out failure investigation and root cause assessment on break downs associated with mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, piping, valves, pressure vessels etc)

  • Tracking production losses, downtime, or abnormally high maintenance costs on particular assets, and then finding ways to reduce those losses or high costs.

  • Managing risk to Nufarm strategic objectives in the areas of environmental health and safety, asset capability, quality and production reliability. 

  • Participate in setting the maintenance plans for the plant, spare parts plan, and in the development of a forward looking capital maintenance plan based upon equipment life cycle analysis.

  • Provide technical expertise from a mechanical perspective to support the production teams and maintain production and process improvement for day to day execution of repairs and fixes (Management of Change support and mechanical review of simple changes)

  • Participates as part of a team to upgrade equipment and processes by implementing modifications ranging from incremental daily improvements to technology game changers.

  • Interacts with all layers of the organization to accomplish business improvements and participates in Nufarm Reliability Engineering Network.

What do you bring?

You’re Tertiary qualified in Mechanical Engineering and bring extensive experience in manufacturing equipment reliability and a strong knowledge of Fitness for Service Evaluations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Management of Change principles and protocols and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).

You have a strong scientific approach to solving problems, the ability to make data-based decisions, and you’re comfortable working in a team environment with a high degree of initiative and self-motivation. Knowledge of Non Destructive Examination techniques and vibration analysis techniques is desirable but not essential.
