About the role

We are seeking to hire a qualified forklift Operator to join our team on a full-time basis at our Melbourne Freight Terminal for our Freight operations. The role will report into the Supervisor Terminal and will be required to work a 24/7 roster.

The key responsibility of this role will be to operate a Reach Stacker for the purposes of handling containerised freight within a large container yard, in the most safe, efficient and productive manner.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Performing inspection of trains and equipment during train operations.
  • Operating Pacific National motor vehicles as required.
  • Ensuring security and general housekeeping is maintained throughout the area of responsibility.

About you

The successful candidate will display a strong regard to safety, demonstrate a positive and proactive attitude and be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates must be able and willing to work a 24/7 rotating roster. Candidates with existing experience operating Reach Stackers in a container yard environment is preferable, however not necessary.

As an ideal candidate, you will have the following;

  • High Risk Work License (CB, CN or RS)
  • A current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Proven strong customer service focus
  • High risk forklift license (LF) would be advantageous
  • Top Lift experience/Container freight experience would be advantageous
  • Warehouse experience would advantageous
