About the Role

Play a crucial role in providing leadership and guidance to terminal operators, while leading and coordinating the day-to-day operations. This role places a strong emphasis on implementing and improvement Insafe working in practices, enhancing business operations, driving cultural change, and ensuring productive workplace practices.

Additionally, you are responsible for ensuring Pacific National trains run on time, safely and efficiently through consultation with Pacific National’s Integrated Planning Services department and Network Control. As part of the role, you will be required to provide relief coverage for the current cohort of Terminal Supervisors for both planned and unplanned leave. This will see you operating on a single line and rotating across the four (4) teams of Terminal Operators on an ad hoc basis to maximise leave coverage.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to the supervision of your own team, ensuring compliance is up to standards, team development and customer retention.

About You

An individual who leads by example, communicates effectively and enjoys a challenge in a live run environment.

Advantageous qualifications:

  • Qualifications in Transport, Logistics or Business Management

Highly regarded/desired skills/experience include:

  • Previous experience in a similar rail, transport or logistics leadership role with a strong safety background.
  • Experience in leading, coaching, and motivating a team in a busy environment.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Experience in building and developing a multi-faceted team with a strong focus on driving a safety culture.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.
