The Opportunity:

Port of Newcastle is seeking to employ a Works Supervisor – Electrical who will be responsible for the management of service providers and suppliers, management of subcontractors and other port users, end-to-end process of maintenance works including inspections, scoping planning and scheduling, as well as responsibility for the reliability and safety of the Port’s low voltage electrical assets.

The role sits as a part of the Infrastructure Services team and will assist in the achievement of the overall department plan. It has a collaborative focus and will be required to work closely with other key stakeholders both internally and externally

What you will bring:

Your well-developed technical and communication skills will be invaluable in this position. Also essential is:

  • Licence to perform electrical work in NSW – Contractor Licence or Qualified Supervisor Certificate (preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical infrastructure including substations, transformers, switchgear, distribution infrastructure, and lighting.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of work scopes, procurement of services and management of contracts and contractors.
  • Experience in the coordination and supervision of maintenance works in a port or industrial setting.
  • Experience in utilising computerised maintenance management systems (preferably TechnologyOne) to administer maintenance works.
  • Current C-Class drivers licence
  • Intermediate level computer skills in the use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and capacity to work independently.
