We are a leader in delivery of large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects, with expertise in design, procurement, construction and maintenance. We strive to help the delivery of the energy transition by maintaining strong focus on supporting development of renewable generation.

We offer opportunities to learn and grow in a safe, inclusive, flexible and collaborative environment. Wherever you work and whatever you do, we’ll support you to be the best you can be.

About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced Field HSE Advisor to join our HSE project delivery team in a full time and permanent capacity based at our Leeston Solar Farm Project located in Leeston (7682) in New Zealand.

This is a hands-on, site-based role where you'll work alongside project leaders, workers and contractors to provide practical health, safety and environmental support across construction projects throughout New Zealand.

Reporting to the HSE team, you will play a key role in coordinating, implementing and continuously improving project-specific HSE systems, plans and processes. You'll partner with operational teams to identify risks, promote safe work practices and support compliance across all phases of project delivery.

As a trusted advisor, you will provide frontline leadership, coaching and guidance to workers and contractors, helping to foster a positive and proactive safety culture. Through strong stakeholder engagement, practical problem-solving and a focus on continuous improvement, you will contribute to achieving safe, sustainable and successful project outcomes.

In this role you will deliver:

  • Provide frontline HSE leadership, coaching and support to workers, contractors and project teams
  • Implement and maintain project HSE management plans, site safety plans and safe work procedures
  • Lead site inspections, audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Monitor HSE performance, identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Review risk assessments, permits and controls for high-risk construction activities
  • Support worker engagement through inductions, toolbox talks, pre-starts and HSE committee participation.
  • Monitor contractor compliance and provide practical advice to supervisors and project leaders
  • Implement and monitor the Environmental Management Plan (EMP), Erosion and Sediment Control Plan (ESCP) and other associated management plans for the project.
  • Support compliance tracking of project resource consents, and build relationships with local regulatory authorities (e.g Environment Canterbury and Selwyn District Council).
  • Implement waste minimisation strategies and coordinate with waste management contractors.
  • Support ESG reporting requirements as per contractual requirements - including waste, energy, gross greenhouse gas emissions
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness, environmental controls and project HSE reporting.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Qualified in Health & Safety (NZ Certificate Level 4 or equivalent recognised HSE qualification)
  • Minimum three years' experience in a site-based HSE role within construction, civil, utilities or infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand health, safety and environmental legislation and requirements
  • Experienced in applying practical HSE systems and controls within operational construction environments
  • Skilled at building relationships, influencing stakeholders and driving positive safety behaviours
  • Confident communicator with the ability to deliver engaging training, inductions and presentations
  • Strong problem-solving and investigation skills, including incident investigations and risk management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to communicate technical HSE information clearly and effectively.
