About the role

Powerlink Queensland is a leading provider of high voltage electricity transmission network services and plays a central role in connecting Queenslanders to a new energy future. As part of this, we are planning and delivering a large number of major projects, including renewable energy developments, across Queensland.

The next ten years will see revolutionary changes to the way that electricity is delivered to Queenslanders to support this exciting, unprecedented growth we are seeking a Strategic Resource Manager to guide and engage with the broader business and key stakeholders to create alignment and provide strategic actionable insights to inform effective works planning and delivery.

As our Strategic Resource Manager, you will undertake strategic resource demand & supply research, analysis and modelling in the support & guidance of Powerlink’s Operational Management to “Right Size” their operational workforce on a strategic basis. You shall also engage with the broader Powerlink business to optimise the utilisation of the Operational Workforce and promote integration and alignment of systems and data.

About you

As our new Strategic Resource Manager, do you have a passion for sustainability, coupled with being a strategic aspirational leader? Do you have a strong ability to engage and build effective working relationships plus have excellent negotiation ability, interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders?

No two days will be the same as our Strategic Resource Manager, you will be able to develop and ensure the alignment with the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan, Network Portfolio Plan, Network Investment Outlook and other planning systems and tools to achieve excellent operational outcomes in a time of unprecedented change.

  • Actively engage and build effective working relationships to ensure optimisation and integration with Energy Markets, Network Portfolio, Infrastructure Delivery and Network Operations.
  • Facilitate key discussions with divisions and other key external stakeholders to identify and validate events that may impact future operational resource capacity.
  • Lead and facilitate the scenario testing to identify the future changes that may impact Operations Service Delivery resources with key internal and external stakeholders and provide data-driven strategic actionable insights in a complex and constrained environment.
  • Lead the data gathering to gain a strategic view of the pipeline for upcoming changes that may impact field delivery resources.
  • Lead the critical analysis through various analytics and modelling techniques
  • Prepare high-level strategic estimates for new projects in the four year and beyond horizon in consultation with subject matter experts from across Powerlink
  • Promote understanding and knowledge of the operational resource planning at Powerlink and its critical role in the successfully delivery of maintenance and project works.
  • Preparation of senior - level reporting and other materials including recommendations and outcomes to support strategic choices about delivery in a complex and constrained environment

    Position requirements:
    A Degree qualification in Engineering, Business or Project Management, with significant experience in stakeholder management or Customer Service

Desirable would be:
Experience in construction, refurbishment and maintenance activities in a transmission environment would be an advantage.
