The Mobile Mechanic is responsible for on-site mobile plant maintenance and repair services for QMAG Parkhurst Plant and Kunwarara Mine Site periodically, ensuring minimal downtime and high-quality service. This position will be based at our Parkhurst Operations working a compressed roster.

About The Role

As the Mobile Mechanic, you will:

  • Ensure maximum equipment availability by providing effective and efficient mobile equipment maintenance activities, whether preventative or breakdown
  • Conduct on-site inspections and diagnostic tests to determine mobile plant issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on mobile plant.
  • Coordinate services and repair work on leased/hire equipment with the respective hire company/service agent
  • Liaise with maintenance planner to schedule mobile equipment services and corrective work
  • Manage inventory of parts and tools required for mobile plant maintenance work.
  • Establish a good rapport with mobile equipment operators to help identify and rectify any issues within the mobile plant fleet.

The Requirements

We are looking for someone who has the following:

  • An open manual driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • An AQF Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training, or
  • An AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse faults and eliminate the cause of the faults.
