Louise joined the GCA team as a receptionist this year and shares her unique experience working in the team below:
“I first joined QAL as an intern in the People and Culture department, seeking to gain experience in this field before completing my degree. I was given the opportunity to gain practical experience shadowing the team, which assisted me immensely in the completion of my final trimester at University. After completing the internship, I was kindly given the chance to return to QAL in a reception position.
In this position, I have been thoroughly supported by my co-workers and management in becoming the best employee I can. I have gained the necessary training I needed to excel in this role, which includes (but is not limited to) training in how to raise PO’s, getting messages to the various departments in the office, contacting external stakeholders, ordering for the office etc… I was able to develop at my own pace, and in doing so, I now feel confident in my skills and knowledge of the processes of the company.
On the first day of my internship, I was impressed by how friendly and supportive of a workplace QAL appeared to be, and that sentiment still rings true over a year later. The positive environment of this office makes it a great place to work that I would recommend to anyone interested in exploring a position here.”
