Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Pricing and Commercial Manager, we’re seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Analyst to join our Corporate and Finance Group. In this role, you will lead critical evaluations and financial analyses across both regulated and non-regulated activities, supporting key commercial and pricing decisions that drive long-term success.

You will own complex financial analyses, providing oversight and strategic guidance for diverse commercial initiatives and emerging opportunities within Urban Utilities. This includes evaluating and balancing significant investments across our core regulated operations and emerging growth areas. As a trusted leader, you’ll collaborate closely with key stakeholders to shape and assess business opportunities, offering expert advice on commercial considerations to support informed decision-making and drive sustainable growth! Key accountabilities will include:

  • Commercial Analysis & Strategy: Lead financial and commercial evaluations for strategic initiatives, investments, and future workflows, including financial modelling, pricing strategy, and business case development.

  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with business units to guide strategic decisions, assess commercial opportunities, and optimise resource allocation, ensuring prudency and efficiency.

  • Financial Risk Management: Identify and mitigate key financial risks, supporting stakeholders on product profitability, market strategy, mergers, acquisitions, and special projects like water recycling.

  • Revenue Analysis: Provide insights on revenue trends, risk mitigation, and long-term financial sustainability, contributing to pricing strategies, budgets, and performance reporting.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal leaders, providing expert guidance and mobilising resources for commercial assessments and decision-making.

  • Capability Building: Enhance organizational commercial expertise through training, coaching, and professional development to support long-term financial sustainability.

About You:

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about shaping the future of the water industry! Ideally have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • Degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field.

  • Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in analytics, data science, or similar (desirable).

  • Professional accreditation like CA/CPA (preferred).

  • Significant experience in commercial analysis, pricing, finance and project delivery.

  • Senior analyst experience in a large, regulated organisation such as utilities, mining or heavy industry (desirable)

  • Proven ability to lead commercial assessments and manage modelling for new opportunities.
