About the Role

Based at our Narangba Site and reporting to the Strata Supervisor, the EVG Operator is responsible for performing manufacturing processes in a safe and productive manner as directed by their supervisor or Foreman and the relevant work instructions as well as undertaking preventive maintenance, fault finding and repairs. The duties and responsibilities associated with this role will include, but are not limited to;

• Operation of the EVG mesh machine or other assigned production tasks in order to maximise equipment output and product quality;
• Participate in training and other activities intended to increase your skills/knowledge and enable optimal role performance;
• Completion of required quality testing and inspection;
• Promptly carry out repairs, servicing and maintenance of EVG mesh machine (or other equipment as required and assigned from time to time) and associated equipment with minimal supervision;
• Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and instructions, in particular safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment;
• Carry out fault finding and diagnostic analysis, including overhaul, of plant and equipment, as necessary;
• Maintain clear records of production downtime, maintenance activities and faults as required/requested to assist in optimisation of plant and operations;
• Contributes to the team environment by performing other duties as required;
• Adheres to policies and procedures that ensure effective cost management of expenditure;
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and participate in improvement projects to reduce costs, improve efficiency or increase safety and quality outcomes;
• Strictly adhere to Company’s QHSE procedures;
• Ensures that the work health and safety requirements of this function are maintained in accordance with statutory legislation and company policies and procedures;
• Participate in QHSE training and initiatives and communicate to crews through pre starts and toolbox meetings

About You

To be considered for this opportunity you will possess all the following attributes:

• Demonstrated experience in manufacturing environment in either a maintenance or operational role;
• Good technical knowledge of Manufacturing or Production processes;
• Good Communication Skills and Problem Solving;
• Trade qualification (ideally mechanical or electrical fitter);
• Safety Awareness Course, Forklift ticket and Lean or Continuous improvement knowledge/training are highly desirable.
