Illawarra Metallurgical Coal (IMC) produces premium quality, hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position based at the Appin mine which is, near the coastal city of Wollongong, NSW, and approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Sydney.

As the Superintendent Coal Clearance, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for the planning, scheduling, and execution of underground Coal Clearance activities.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Create and manage the 13-week Coal Clearance schedule and associated Weekly and 2-5 Week Plans.
• Execute the 12 Month Rolling Maintenance Plan and 13-Week Schedule for Coal Clearance and Mine Services.
• Oversee and integrate 2-5 Week and Weekly Area Maintenance Plans into the Weekly Maintenance Plan.
• Support the 24 Month Production Forecast by delivering on maintenance and engineering objectives

ABOUT YOU

• Significant experience gained in a similar role within Production Execution at an underground coal mine
• Proven supervisory and contractor management expertise
• Drive productivity while maintaining a strong safety culture, leveraging effective mentoring and coaching to enhance team performance

Qualifications for this position are:

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, preferably engineering discipline
