ABOUT GEMCO
Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns. Residential option to live on Groote Eylandt considered.
As the Authority to Work Coordinator, you will be responsible for driving improvements in operational processes and managing high-risk tasks to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance across the concentrator.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Driving continuous improvement in operational processing and systems.
- Planning & executing isolation and permit-to-work strategies.
- Investigating operational issues, identifying solutions, and driving change.
- Managing stakeholder engagement and ensuring operational alignment.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Significant experience in a processing plant
- Prior experience in a supervisory role
- Strong background in isolation & permit-to-work systems.
- Proven track record of managing safety & productivity improvements
- Excellent communication skills and experience in stakeholder management
Qualifications for this position are:
- Mining/Site Supervisor competency G1, G8, G9 (or willing to obtain)
- G2 Risk Management (highly desirable)
- Current manual drivers’ licence
