ABOUT CANNINGTON

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a permanent position on a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Brisbane/Townsville or DIDO from Mount Isa to Cannington.

As the Superintendent Health & Hygiene, you will govern and continuously improve the Cannington Health & Hygiene sub-function to ensure the effective management of health and hygiene risks, fitness for work, workers compensation and injury management.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Provide visible safety leadership by coaching employees and contractors in safe behaviours and routines.
• Engage and collaborate with business stakeholders including front-line and management to ensure Health and Hygiene programs are relevant and effective.
• Lead and implement improvement initiatives to streamline and leverage key opportunities within the Business and Operations.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Cannington Leadership, Operational and Functional teams.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Experience working in a similar role in an Operational environment (health, hygiene, workers compensation) and leading effective teams of 5+.
• In depth knowledge of hygiene management processes, technologies and relevant industry standards (e.g. OSHA).
• Proven skillset in developing and influencing operational practice within Health & Safety.
• Strong interpersonal, facilitation and influencing skills with the ability to present information in an engaging and effective manner.
• Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies.

Qualifications for this position are:

• Degree qualification in Hygiene, Allied Health or relevant field.
