ABOUT OUR PERTH OFFICE
South32’s corporate office is based in the heart of Perth’s CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, External Affairs, Sustainability Strategy, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk, Legal and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a full-time, permanent position at our head office in Perth.
The Lead HR Services APAC plays a pivotal role in promoting HR operational excellence at South32. In this position, you'll help shape our future through strategic insights and transformative leadership, while managing our comprehensive employee data ecosystem. Your team will manage key accountabilities from processing payroll and maintaining master records to coordinating seamless employee movements across the region, you'll ensure an efficient and effective HR administration service is delivered to our operations. Your expertise in Customer Service and data governance will be essential.
Reporting to the Senior Manager HR Services, key responsibilities include:
- Drive our HR Services team to excellence while shaping regional strategy. Through your team, you'll champion innovation, solve complex challenges, and drive performance through a culture of continuous improvement and standardisation.
- Design and implement outstanding HR services that blend modern industry practices with rigorous compliance. Your expertise will ensure smooth operations through effective service agreements and business continuity planning.
- Build powerful partnerships across South32 to optimize processes and enhance the employee experience. You'll lead transformative initiatives and influence positive change through stakeholder collaboration.
ABOUT YOU
You will ideally have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Expertise in operational leadership to optimise our HR services through clever demand, volume and productivity planning, whilst ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Utilise your comprehensive knowledge of payroll statutory requirements and legislative frameworks, particularly in Australian and Singaporean contexts, to ensure smooth compliance.
- Use your analytical approach to assess operational risks and develop robust contingency plans, ensuring business continuity and sustainable service delivery.
- With 7+ years of HR experience, lead and motivate teams to achieve excellence whilst fostering a collaborative environment that drives results and promotes ongoing growth.
- Create and maintain strong relationships across the organisation, anticipating needs and delivering solutions that exceed expectations through effective communication and influence.
- Champion transformation through your experience in HR system implementation and process design, creating efficient and user-friendly solutions that enhance service delivery.
Qualifications for this position are:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Management,HR or Process Improvement preferred
