Your Opportunity

Responsible for ensuring IT services are delivered effectively and efficiently through the daily management of a team of employees to include hiring, motivating, recognizing and rewarding, coaching, counseling, training, and problem solving. Additionally, the position is responsible for assisting the Manager with development, analysis, quality assurance and implementation of staffing, training, scheduling and reward/recognition programs.

Key process areas for which this role will provide management, process leadership and subject matter expertise include: Access Management, Service Asset and Configuration Management, Knowledge Management, Change and Release Management, and Continual Service Improvement processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages and/or oversees the Service Management Analysts.

  • Oversees the operational activities of the team; including fulfilling access requests, resolving service failures, fixing problems, as well as carrying out routine operational tasks for configuration, change and release management.

  • Produces weekly and monthly statistics and performance reports.

  • Shares continual responsibility for deciding how to manage the employees, ensuring requests and changes are handled efficiently and effectively.

  • Establishes work procedures and processes that support the company and departmental standards, procedures and strategic directives.

  • Ensure the Access Procedure catalogue of User Roles and Access Profiles stays updated for the Oracle service, and prevent unwanted accumulation of access rights

  • Ensures employees have appropriate training and other resources to perform their jobs.

  • Responds to and resolves employee relations issues expressed by team members.

  • Addresses disciplinary and/or performance problems according to company policy.

  • Prepares warnings and communicates effectively with employees on warnings and makes effective/appropriate decisions relative to corrective action as required.

  • Works as a leader of special or ongoing projects that are important to area/process improvement.

  • Completes staff career development and performance plans

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written); as well as the ability to convey technical information using language the listener/reader will best understand.

  • Demonstrates advanced technical skills; proficient in the use of Stantec computers, communication devices, systems, and related applications to input, retrieve, and communicate information.

  • Proactive in identifying difficult or complicated challenges and taking action to resolve.

  • Demonstrates good judgement to make timely, informed decisions and develops creative and innovative solutions to solve all types of workplace challenges.

  • Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results with little oversight.

Education and Experience

Minimum 5 years’ relevant IT experience, and minimum 2 years’ current experience with Stantec.
