About the role

This is full time opportunity located in Brisbane CBD.

The Health, Safety and Environment Specialist – Wellbeing reports through to the Health, Safety and Environment Manager- Wellbeing and is responsible for developing, reviewing, monitoring, and improving the broader Health, Safety and Wellbeing of our people through our systems, processes, initiatives and regulatory obligations

Key activities include:

  • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to raise awareness of priority health r and drive cultural change with respect to workforce health risks.
  • Work with internal clients and external providers to ensure that Stanwell complies with relevant statutory medical, internal pre-employment and pre-mobilisation medical requirements for employees and contractors.
  • Developing and implementing strategic health actions and cost mitigation strategies that align to the Health, Safety and Environment Strategy to help prevent injuries and illness and proactively improve the health and productivity of the workforce.
  • Build strong networks to influence key internal stakeholders and motivate employees; increasing awareness and engagement in the effective implementation of the health and wellbeing framework which will promote a wellness culture.
  • Use a consultative and evidence based approached to define, manage, maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of all Stanwell personnel through the implementation and ongoing management of the Health and Wellbeing Strategy.

About you

The following qualifications and skills are required:

  • Demonstrated ability in the development of health, safety and wellbeing performance and indicators for quantifying exposure reduction, injury reduction and health management for the business.
  • Ability to apply cognitive and technical skills to develop creative solutions to occupational health and wellbeing risks.
  • Knowledge and application of relevant health and safety legislation and associated codes, standards, and statutory requirements with respect to occupational health, safety and environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, peers, senior management, and the Board, as well as effectively represent the company and liaise with external parties.
  • History of managing a rehabilitation and return to work process, management of occupational hygiene risks and managing health and wellbeing projects and initiatives.
