About the role

This is a full-time fixed term opportunity (until 30 June 2026) located in Brisbane CBD.

The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining Stanwell’s Azure Cloud Tenancy. This role will perform Cloud Engineering and Cloud Operations to develop new cloud solutions and enhance existing cloud workloads.

Key activities include:

  • Design: Collaborate with stakeholders and technical leads to design and architect the cloud-based infrastructure, leveraging infrastructure-as-code principles for automation and scalability to deliver self-serve and self-managed solutions.
  • Migration Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive migration strategy to seamlessly move our existing systems and applications from on-premises to the cloud environment.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead and guide the technical aspects of cloud infrastructure dependant projects, providing expertise, best practices, and driving decisions to ensure successful implementation.
  • Security: Implement robust security measures and best practices to ensure data protection and compliance with industry standards.
  • Governance: Establish and implement tenancy wide Cloud policies, standards and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.

About you

  • Experience in Cloud Engineering or Cloud Operations at a Senior level.
  • Successful track record of developing, implementing, and managing Azure Cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing cloud-based architectures for enterprise-level applications.
  • Proficient at writing Infrastructure as code in BICEP, ARM or Terraform.
  • Proficient at developing CI/CD pipelines for automated application and infrastructure deployment.
