About the role
This is a permanent opportunity based at our Brisbane Office.
The Category Specialist plays a key role supporting the Maintenance, Repairs and Operations portfolio (within the Strategic Procurement Team) which includes:
- strategy development for Category Plans and Sourcing
- tender management
- contract negotiations
- category management
- supplier relationship management
- partnering with various business stakeholders to deliver high quality procurement and contract management services.
As a Category Specialist this role will partner with the business to deliver value through commercial outcomes in accordance with our business values and objectives, procedural and statutory requirements.
Key activities include:
- Lead, manage, and deliver procurement requirements across the end-to-end project as they enter their planning, operational and delivery phases.
- Lead concurrent sourcing processes and contractor management activities such as RFXs, negotiations, risk apportionment/contract drafting etc.
- Manage end to end procurement events on behalf on internal stakeholders and deliver hands-on procurement activities from tender and contracting strategy development, supplier evaluation, contract negotiations and execution, encompassing clear, compliant, and concise procurement documentation for complex activities.
About you
- Experience in category management, strategic sourcing events for complex contractual arrangements for construction, goods and/or services type arrangements for asset intensive industries such as Energy, Utilities, Mining, or Manufacturing.
- Proven working knowledge in end to end procurement specialist role, delivering strategic and tactical procurement activities.
- Proven contract management experience from a supplier’s and customer’s perspective.
- Strong project management skills, problem solving and analytical skills.
