About the role

This is a permanent opportunity based at our Brisbane Office.

The Category Specialist plays a key role supporting the Maintenance, Repairs and Operations portfolio (within the Strategic Procurement Team) which includes:

• strategy development for Category Plans and Sourcing
• tender management
• contract negotiations
• category management
• supplier relationship management
• partnering with various business stakeholders to deliver high quality procurement and contract management services.

As a Category Specialist this role will partner with the business to deliver value through commercial outcomes in accordance with our business values and objectives, procedural and statutory requirements.

Key activities include:

• Lead, manage, and deliver procurement requirements across the end-to-end project as they enter their planning, operational and delivery phases.
• Lead concurrent sourcing processes and contractor management activities such as RFXs, negotiations, risk apportionment/contract drafting etc.
• Manage end to end procurement events on behalf on internal stakeholders and deliver hands-on procurement activities from tender and contracting strategy development, supplier evaluation, contract negotiations and execution, encompassing clear, compliant, and concise procurement documentation for complex activities.

About you

• Experience in category management, strategic sourcing events for complex contractual arrangements for construction, goods and/or services type arrangements for asset intensive industries such as Energy, Utilities, Mining, or Manufacturing.
• Proven working knowledge in end to end procurement specialist role, delivering strategic and tactical procurement activities.
• Proven contract management experience from a supplier’s and customer’s perspective.
• Strong project management skills, problem solving and analytical skills.
