The opportunity:
As the Accounts Payable, you will support the Finance team in various accounting tasks, focusing on the management of daily accounts payable processes, ensuring adherence to internal control procedures and Systra ANZ policies relating to procurement and payments.
Based in Sydney - ( 2/3 days in the office minimum)
- Receive and review incoming supplier invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile invoice with the purchase receipt and purchase order.
- Proactively assist with the invoice approval cycle with all teams to ensure processing deadlines are achieved.
- Enter supplier invoices in Xero ensuring appropriate project number, cost code and business unit are correct.
- Assist in the preparation of accounts payable-related financial reports.
- Ensuring proper coding and categorisation with project and overhead accounts whilst making sure business units are correct.
- Facilitate bulk upload of transactions from Expenses and travel systems.
- Assist with the balance sheet reconciliations of payable accounts.
- Provide information for budgeting and forecasting processes.
Required qualifications & experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related discipline
- CA/CPA qualification or commencing study is desirable.
- 5 years' experience in a similar role within a professional services environment.
- An understanding of accounting processes of a consultancy/project-based business.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in a project ERP system (Oracle Netsuite and IFS preferred)
