We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.

About the role

Band 5 - Salary range $104,284 - $147,238 per annum (plus super)

An exciting opportunity exists in the TasNetworks Strategy team for a Strategy Specialist.

Located at Lenah Valley in Hobart’s Northern Suburbs and reporting to the Strategy and Planning Leader, the role will contribute to and support the overall strategic planning program. The role will partner with designated stakeholders to deliver the corporate strategy and deliver strategic alignment and business plans for each TasNetworks business unit.

The Strategy Specialist carries out research and analysis of the operating environment and delivers high quality insights and recommendations for the Board, Executive and broader TasNetworks group. The Strategy Specialist also supports the preparation and delivery of strategic workshops, produces performance reports for both internal and external stakeholders, and works with individual business groups to prepare plans.

About you

We are looking for a strategy star that thrives on being supportive and engaging with their collaborative approach to working with colleagues and stakeholders, a genuine all-rounder in their field. You will be comfortable challenging the status quo and having influencing conversations with business units.

You will have strategic planning experience with a track record in contributing to and supporting business performance frameworks with proven experience to then measure, analyse and manage change. You will have a keen curiosity with the ability to articulate challenging conversations and demonstrate your thoughtful and engaging nature.

You will have relevant tertiary qualifications that include Business/Commerce/Economics, an MBA or significant experience at a high level in a similar role. We would love to hear from consultants looking to make a change and/or candidates with a strong history in Commercial or Strategy.

Previous experience in utilities/energy would be beneficial.
