We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.
About the role
Band 5 - Salary range $104,284 - $147,238 per annum (plus super)
TasNetworks is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Connections Manager to oversee our large and complex capital Transmission Connections Portfolio. As a Connections Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing high-profile projects, ensuring customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and revenue generation.
You will be an industry specialist in network connections leading technical responses, high voltage transmission system developments for TasNetworks and third-party customers. The role will require strong communication and stakeholder management skills and collaborative behaviours with industry stakeholders to find solutions to emerging challenges.
You will be adaptable and comfortable working in a changing environment with an ability to be flexible and take on and resolve challenges. You will be passionate and driven with extensive experience in your field helping you build credibility quickly with your customers and stakeholders
This role is based at our Lenah Valley office and will require some intrastate travel.

About you
As a Connections Manager you will have a demonstrated commitment to safety and possess negotiation and conflict management skills, preferably with experience in project management and the administration of robust agreements.
You would be a proficient collaborator with a continuous improvement mindset, they should be able to coordinate stakeholders to provide holistic customer solutions. You would have strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking, along with the ability to analyse and interpret data for decision-making to promptly and effectively address client issues by coordinating with internal teams, especially with Customer Account Managers.
You would have a self-directed and proactive attitude, and demonstrate customer-centricity, understand commercial imperatives, and manage change in fast-paced environments.
A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, along with professional competence and experience, is preferred.
Ideally, you would have a practical understanding of the National Electricity Rules, the large-scale renewable energy market, and the associated commercial risks.
