We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.

About the role

Band 4 - salary range $88,641 - $125,141 per annum (plus Super)

An exciting opportunity exists in the TasNetworks Regulation team for a Regulatory Analyst.

Located at Lenah Valley in Hobart’s Northern Suburbs and reporting to the Leader Regulation, the role will undertake analysis and provide advice on regulatory reforms and strategy, electricity supply industry compliance, energy market and stakeholder issues.

The role is part of a small but highly skilled team that is responsible for energy policy / advocacy, including reforms to progress Australia’s energy transition and Tasmania’s renewable energy targets and energy policy. The role is also responsible for regulatory compliance and reporting and helps to provide regulatory advice to the business, including key updates to the Executive Leadership team and Board.

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring a background in policy within either government or the private sector.

You will have the demonstrated and proven ability to research and analyse issues, identify key themes and implications and develop options and recommendations. You will have an understanding or be able to quickly gain an understanding of the regulatory framework in which TasNetworks operates and the link between business decisions and impact on regulatory outcomes.

Desirable tertiary qualifications in Economics, Commerce, Business, Engineering or similar competency.
