About Your Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our high-performing Thales team as an Electronics Engineer in our Under-Water Systems Business Unit based at our Rydalmere site. Reporting into the Engineering Services Manager, you will be responsible for providing office and off-site mechanical/electrical systems and hardware engineering services in support of the Sonar 2093.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting and reporting technical investigations into problems associated with mechanical and electronic/electrical systems and hardware;
- Conducting and reporting of investigations into obsolescence of mechanical and electronic/electrical systems and equipment;
- Review of drawings and technical documents;
- Preparation of engineering drawings and documents in support of sonar equipment design, development and maintenance activities;
- Preparation of design change documentation including manufacturing drawings, installation instructions, cost estimates and test and trials procedures;
- Providing support to fault diagnosis and repair of the Sonar Reference Set and Sonar Towed Bodies;
- Providing support to production and repair centres for the sonar and degaussing equipment;
- Conducting Sonar and Degaussing System Test and Trials activities onboard MHC ships
- Assistance to the Sonar Maintenance Team for routine maintenance and repair activities for the sonar and degaussing equipment’s onboard the MHC ships.
How About You?
- BSC in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a recognized technical institution.
- At least 5 years’ experience working with electronic or electro-mechanical systems/equipment;
- A good understanding of analogue and TTL /CMOS digital electronics;
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team to drive key results
- Experience of producing clear and concise detailed technical reports in English; and
- Proficient in MS Suite
- Exceptional written and oral communication
