About the role:
Thales Australia is a premier provider of defence and commercial products, solutions and services. The EO (Explosive Ordnance) Services group provides storage and logistics services to the Australian Defence Force in an ongoing contractual agreement that incorporates over 270 members of staff across 17 sites in Australia.
Assist the Regional Manager to manage the EO Services Operations in accordance with the Contract Statement of Work and Performance Management Framework, to ensure safety, compliance and customer service.
- Liaise and communicate with customers on requirements, level of service and opportunities for improvement
- Lead, manage and maintain a receipt, storage, maintenance and distribution capability
- Manage the operation and maintenance of Defence and Thales equipment
- Assist the Regional Manager in applying and management of the Safety Management System
- Manage the recruitment and development of staff to meet the operational and administrative requirements
- Coordinate the preparation and timely submission of relevant reports and documentation
- Develop a stocking and re-supply program for EO and associated items in EO Depot Twofold Bay
- Lead, manage and oversee direct reports, including all aspects of performance appraisal, and development discussions
- Maintain and enhance relationship with the customer by maintaining a proactive visit schedule
How About You?
- Diploma level (or higher) in logistics or a relevant business or industry related subject
- Certificate IV (of higher) in Frontline Management or the ability to obtain
- Experience working in the logistics industry including multi-mode transport operations
- Proven experience managing a team, finances and other resources
- Knowledge of the Defence industry would be highly regarded
