Australian Munitions, a part of Thales Australia, is the largest supplier of explosive ordnance to the Australian Defence Force, with a successful track record delivering ammunition, propellants, explosives and related services.
The Mulwala site focuses on high quality propellants and explosives. Our dedicated team holds the expertise and know-how necessary to manage Australia’s domestic munitions manufacturing with confidence and safety well into the future.
In this complex and interesting environment, the Health and Wellbeing Partner will play an instrumental part in determining and implementing appropriate plans, programs and strategies throughout an employee’s employment life cycle to maintain employee’s fitness and to promote Health and Wellbeing.
The role
- Complete workers compensation and fitness for work activities
- Align workers compensation and fitness for work priorities incorporating specific section and site requirements
- Provide input to and implement workers compensation and fitness for work management systems, procedures and plans
- Respond to emergency situations and provide treatment
- Treat minor injury and illness
- Apply up to date knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory and company workers compensation and fitness for work ensuring management and staff are kept informed of any relevant changes to the requirements
- Operate as part of the HSE team and support other teams as required
- Ensure all injuries/illnesses are reported and addressed
- Provide advice on health and safety issues
- Maintain systems and enter data to ensure information and records are kept appropriately
How About You?
- Appropriate degree in a health-related profession, i.e. nursing, or relevant tertiary qualifications
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in fields of injury management, health promotion and relevant legislation
- Ideally experience in a similar environment underpinned by practical knowledge of production/construction/manufacturing
- Knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of EMS and EMPs and working within integrated systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Clearance and or NV1 Vetting (http://www.defence.gov.au/AGSVA/)
Part of the selection process will be a pre-employment police and medical check.
