Exciting Opportunity
We have a newly created opportunity for a Project Management Office (PMO) Trainee to join our team in our 2022 Traineeship Program.
This is a two-year fixed term opportunity based at our Garden Island, NSW site where you will develop foundational skills in the function of a PMO and experience in bid/project management. You will play a part in ensuring the RAN and our other partners meet their objectives.
As part of your formal studies, gain practical experience in the project management field of the AWS business by being trained in and assisting with a range of PMO activities in a multi-project environment. Work experience will be gained primarily through on-the-job training, by working alongside PMO and AWS team members. This 2023 Traineeship Program involves a rotation across PMO functions - Planning & Scheduling, Contract and Subcontract Management, Bids & Estimates, Project Management and Production Management.
In this role you will have the opportunity to gain training and experience in:
Project Management and Production Management – gain insight into the project execution phase through supporting management of projects and execution of production activities.
Planning and Scheduling – gain skills and experience in the use of the Primavera, preparing bid and project schedules, maintaining master schedules and preparation of work packages.
Contract and Subcontract Management - supporting the Contract Management team across AWS Bids and Projects in a variety of activities, including performance-based and collaborative contract models.
Bids and Estimates - assisting with the compilation and preparation of bids for both internal and external customers
Risk Management – assist with the compilation and coordination of risk management
Workforce Planning – support and analyse workforce demand for AWS and ability to provide insights
About You
Study for a TAFE or Tertiary qualification in Project Management
Well-developed communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
Demonstrate computer literacy including knowledge of standard Microsoft Office suite
Able to treat new situations and change as opportunities for learning and growth.
