About Your Role
Our Above Water Systems team provides a variety of services to the Royal Australian Navy and other partners, that span across Australia and in other international markets. With diverse operations across ship repair, maintenance, asset management and in-service support capabilities for commercial and naval ships, we also offer the provision of docking, reticulated services and facility maintenance within the Garden Island Defence Precinct in Sydney and the Maritime Precinct in Newcastle.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our AWS team based at Garden Island. With a focus on our Dock Operations and Reticulated Services contract, you will play a central role across a mix of major and minor projects within the Garden Island Defence Precinct where we operate the largest graving dock in the southern hemisphere.

Key responsibilities will see you;
Playing a central role in the management of various survey and quote activities and other associated projects to support the Dock Operations and Reticulated Services contract
Ensuring performance in relation to contractual obligations and managing the project lifecycle for agreed budget, schedule and performance (KPI) outcomes
Acting as a key customer interface as you support our Program Manager and collaborate to maintain strong relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including; Navy, Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group and Estate & Infrastructure Group
Manage a variety of activities across; routine services, dockyard maintenance programs and other projects that facilitate dock facilities as you drive innovative solutions that foster continuous improvement
Working closely with our Bid and Sales teams in order to support a culture of team work and collaboration
Supporting contractual performance as you maximise customer satisfaction and ensure ongoing success for Thales Australia
Monitoring Health, Safety and Environment activities as you ensure statutory compliance and adherence with other set processes and procedures
How About You?
Relevant tertiary qualifications (Engineering, Project Management etc.) and proven experience in a similar project management position, ideally within ideally within the Estate and Infrastructure or similar environments
Well-developed project management skills coupled with effective leadership capabilities
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work with and influence diverse stakeholder groups
Proven experience in the delivery of contractual obligations against set KPI’s and objectives
Strong background in managing customer requirements and interacting with a variety of key internal and external stakeholders in influencing business outcomes
Background in leading others within a similar high-risk environment and ensuring compliance in relation to Health, Safety and Environment requirements
Those with a working knowledge and/or background in working to ASDEFCON standards will be viewed favourably, as will those with experience working within a similar Defence industry role
