About Your Role: Contract Manager

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Contract Manager to join our Submarine Programme Project Team based in either Sydney or Western Australia. You will play a key role in supporting the team to successfully deliver on our programme by providing contract management support to the Programme team.

Your key focus areas will be:

  • Supporting the achievements of the Underwater Systems financial and strategic objectives
  • Ensuring compliance with ethical and contractual undertakings
  • Ensuring the commercial integrity of commitments being made on behalf of Thales.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality and timely commercial and contractual advice to key stakeholders, interpreting the contract and scope of work for the project
  • Work with Program Manager and Project Managers to proactively manage risks and opportunities in relation to the contractual aspects of the projects
  • Proactively leading and managing contractual and commercial issues/disputes that may arise, including coordination of commercial claims
  • Service Requirements and other contractual commitments.

How About You?

  • Several years’ experience in contract management with a Tier 1 or 2 company
  • Thorough understanding of project delivery principles, contract law and pricing
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent client liaison and people management skills
  • Prior experience within a Defence-related industry either within Australia or overseas
  • Knowledge of ASDEFCON is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated advanced negotiating, analytical, financial and numeracy skills.
  • Experience in building/maintaining collaborative relationships with clients
