The role:

Thales Australia is a premier provider of systems, products and services in the defence, security and civil markets in Australia and throughout the world. The Thales Australia AWS business offers ship repair, maintenance and asset management / in-service support capabilities for commercial and naval ships in Australia. The business also offers the provision of docking, reticulated services and facility maintenance within Garden Island.


Opportunity for a Supply Chain Coordinator to join our team based in Garden Island. In this role you will be working within the AWS Production Supply Chain team to lead and manage Supply Chain and Logistic Services for allocated bids and/or projects in the AWS business portfolio.

Duties will include;

  • Managing and leading all supply support activities to achieve the required Contract objectives for spares planning, demand satisfaction, stock procurement and stock management.

  • Ensuring the implementation of the required systems and processes to enable procurement, storage and delivery of materials.

  • Planning, organising, leading and controlling work assigned to achieve the agreed outcomes within the delegated authorities and responsibilities.

  • Leading and mentoring a team within the Supply Chain Organisation, providing strong knowledge, experience, training and leadership.

  • Identification of the required systems and processes to enable procurement, inter-district transfers, storage and delivery of materials

About you

  • Qualifications in Supply Chain or extensive experience in related field.

  • Minimum of five years post graduate broad-based experience in material control systems, receiving / distribution systems and fiscal management or a minimum of seven years industrial related experience.

  • Defence service, industry and supply chain management experience will be highly desirable

  • Strong skill base in Department of Defence systems including MILIS, AIMS and IMAT will be advantageous.
