About the position
Thales is a leading manufacturer and supplier of munitions and energetics to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and other customers worldwide. We operate two major manufacturing facilities in Benalla and Mulwala and are dedicated to providing high-quality products to our clients.
We are currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our Supply Chain team at our Mulwala site.
Responsibilities
As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
Coordinating the despatch and incoming freight of goods through efficient logistics modes of transport (import & export involving sea freight, road freight and airfreight) and ensuring all required documentation is prepared / received compliantly and accurately.
Maintain and manage key relationships with all 3rd party logistics providers and ensure level of service being provided is within target by monitoring and tracking appropriate KPI’s
Work closely with Sales, Planning, Purchasing Stores and Production teams to address product demand, availability, and logistical issues. Provide high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
Assist with performing other related Supply Chain Operational duties as assigned
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
Proven experience in logistics coordination or a related field such as inventory management, warehousing, purchasing would be beneficial
Prior experience with dangerous goods logistics would be highly regarded – but not essential (training for related dangerous goods standards can be provided)
Knowledge of import and export regulations, IATA, HSE, AMSA, and other relevant compliance requirements would be highly regarded
