About your role:
Lithgow small arms facility manages defence weaponry refurbishment programs as well as supporting weapon design and development projects for the Australian Defence Force.
As an Inventory Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient stock management to support our manufacturing activities.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, your responsibilities will include maintaining stock records, updating inventory management systems (SAP, MILIS & BPCS) and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
This hands-on position involves performing various stock management tasks, conducting stock takes, and ensuring compliance with safety and security regulations.
- Perform stock management tasks in both Defence and Thales ERP systems
- Create bin locations and move items between bins
- Receive stock into designated locations and dispatch stock from the warehouse or SCA
- Raise issue requisitions and credit return stock for return items
- Reconcile stock between Defence MILIS/SAP and Thales BPCS systems
- Conduct fortnight stock take activities
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, and other regulatory requirements
- Verify the accuracy of recorded information
- Undertake risk assessments before performing tasks
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement and LEAN manufacturing initiatives.
How About You?
- Previous experience within a similar role with extensive knowledge in stock management systems (SAP, MILIS, BPCS or similar)
- Strong knowledge within a manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
