The Head of Engineering Delivery assumes a pivotal leadership role within the Protected Mobility Vehicles Business Segment Technical and Engineering function within Vehicles and Tactical Systems (VTS) division. This position plays a crucial role in leading the delivery teams on a range of vehicle development and integration programs for the Australian Defence Force as well as other customers.
Responsibilities:
Leading the execution of engineering activities in bids, projects, and products, with a focus on Development Programs for the Thales Bushmaster Product Line, as well as other activities within the Protected Vehicle Business Segment
Leading and overseeing the engineering delivery team within the specified delivery perimeter
Ensuring seamless collaboration across disciplines within the defined delivery perimeter for integrated project success
Exercising Technical and Engineering Authority and actively facilitating the resolution of delivery issues to the satisfaction of key stakeholders
Collaborating with Heads of Discipline to secure the appropriate capability for all technical and engineering delivery activities
Collaborating with other delivery and discipline leaders as a member of the VTS-AUS Technical and Engineering Competence Centre (ECC) leadership team
Reviewing key solution architecture and technology choices to guarantee alignment with product policy requirements
Drive cross collaboration within teams, continues improvement, knowledge sharing and operational excellence
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in a technical/engineering leadership role in a related technical domain
Strong background and significant experience in technical roles, ideally underpinned by System Engineering and vehicle development background
Proficient in a broad range of technical areas
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Previous experience in both green field programs and sustainment activities
High level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to lead and inspire multi-disciplinary teams
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering
Flexibility to travel interstate and internationally
