The Role: Manufacturing Manager

This pivotal role reports directly to the Director of the Rydalmere Industrial Competency Centre, focusing on DELIVER activities within the Acoustics Centre of Excellence (ACoE). As the APRU Manager, you will:

  • Oversee manufacturing operations at the ACoE.
  • Foster a unified, respectful, and collaborative team culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance operational performance in safety, quality, cost, and efficiency.

Your leadership will be essential in delivering excellence through execution, innovation, and a commitment to improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Drive adherence to production/repair plans, costs, and quality standards.
  • Monitor and improve productivity, reduce waste, and implement LEAN methodologies.
  • Champion safety initiatives and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
  • Develop team skills, foster autonomy, and support career growth.
  • Build a positive, collaborative culture promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Manage support functions (Supply Chain, Engineering, Lean) to align with production goals.
  • Lead performance reviews, address operational risks, and set corrective priorities.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives across the unit.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders locally and globally to drive success.

Your Skills:

  • Strong manufacturing management experience in technical industries with R&D, product development, and manufacturing.
  • Qualifications in engineering, operations, or relevant technical fields (trade, degree-level preferred).
  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, automation, and Continuous Improvement practices.
  • Proven leadership and change management capabilities in multi-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.
