EO Services provide a strategic capability to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) it’s visiting allies and Defence industry. We are proudly enabling the war fighter to TRAIN – FIGHT – WIN.

Thales EO Services is experiencing exceptional growth and is seeking a dynamic General Manager of Operations and Service Delivery to lead this critical function across Australia.

In this leadership role, you will oversee the delivery of cutting-edge EO services, driving excellence in service outcomes, administration, resource utilization, and digital reporting.

As a key leader within the organization, you will foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and Defence partners, ensuring seamless operations and service delivery across the entire EO enterprise and be a brand ambassador for EO.

The role will be based at our Orchard Hills site, on Darug land, New South Wales.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee daily operations, including regional management, support services, and customer responsiveness, driving efficiency and effectiveness while identifying new business opportunities and implementing data-driven strategies

  • Apply expert knowledge in services management to drive process improvements, optimize resource use, and enhance network efficiency while aligning with the strategic goals of the business and Defence

  • Lead the development and execution of Thales EO Services' strategic vision, ensuring alignment with Defence’s mission, while inspiring leadership, commitment, and a culture of innovation

  • Prioritise safety with a focus on zero harm, promoting a proactive reporting culture and continuous improvement of HSE systems to minimize risks in hazardous operations.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Defence and Thales business units, understanding customer needs, resolving issues, and strengthening brand presence within the EOSC

  • Drive cultural transformation and leadership capability enhancement, aligning with Thales strategic pillars and leadership model

  • Ensure effective issue management and process governance through a culture of continuous improvement, collaborating with the Quality function to monitor and resolve quality issues and customer feedback

On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:

  • Previous experience in the defence EO supply chain, managing multi-site operations and geographically dispersed teams, with a solid background in executing complex projects, preferably within Defence

  • In-depth understanding of the Defence user community, its operational environment, and knowledge of quality management systems, quality assurance, and control

  • A proven track record of managing teams and implementing continuous improvement initiatives

  • Strong engagement skills to work with diverse customer groups and achieve business outcomes

  • Governance skills in managing business operations, project delivery, and finance, with a focus on risk management and identifying opportunities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, combined with business management expertise in coordinating complex tasks, project planning, and earned value techniques

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, or relevant experience, with proven leadership in managing a medium-sized business or segment in logistics/production
