Group Manager Employee Relations
About your new role
Reporting to the General Manager People Partnerships, this Senior Leader in the People and Performance team is responsible for leading the employee relations team, covering all aspects of the employee lifecycle. Functioning at a group level, the role supports senior leadership across 3 sites with over 8000 employees, providing accurate and timely customer service, employee relations, industrial relations, union relations, advisory support and reporting.
- Strategy - Responsible for setting, directing, and executing the Group Employee Relations Strategy that delivers business, team member and economic value. Develop and review company policies and procedures to ensure legislative compliance and best practice.
- Industrial Relations - Provide strategic advice on IR developments and trends to ensure a proactive approach in a complex environment. Lead Enterprise Agreement planning and execution and national union relations (currently 3 x enterprise agreements and 5 x modern awards).
- Employee Relations – Extensive complex ER advisory and case management experience, including advocacy at employment related bodies.
- Risk & Compliance - Oversee wage compliance team and manage external regulatory relations, including the Industrial Relations Commission and Fair Work Ombudsman.
- Key member of various project teams as an ER/IR expert to ensure compliance and manage consultation. Projects include Wage Compliance, Gaming Regulator Remediation etc.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Extensive experience (5 years +) in industrial and employee relations or HRM in a complex organisation or employer association/law firm providing workplace relations advice, including the demonstrated ability to negotiate Enterprise Agreements
- Demonstrated understanding of relevant workplace legislation, regulations and enterprise agreements
- Experience in providing HR advisory support for senior managers
- Ability to manage employee relations matters, balancing commercial outcomes and compliance with employment legislation, company policy, procedure and culture
- Previous experience in leading an organisation through change
- Computer savvy: experienced user of core MS Office applications and comfortable learning and applying bespoke software applications
