About Great River City Light Rail
Western Sydney is one of the fastest growing regions in our country, with the population of Greater Parramatta alone set to climb by 50 per cent by 2041 and at Great River City Light Rail we want to create new communities, connect great places and help locals and visitors move around and explore what the region has to offer. The new Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia, spanning 12 kilometres and utilising state-of-the-art vehicles that delivers comfortable, user-friendly and high-performance services. By 2026, around 28,000 people will use Parramatta Light Rail every day and an estimated 130,000 people will be living within walking distance of light rail stops.
The role
Working across Camellia, Randwick, Pyrmont & Lilyfield Depots, the Junior Rollingstock Engineer is responsible for supporting and guiding the wider Assets team to perform a variety of engineering, maintenance, and repair tasks. This will include undertaking engineering investigations, analyses, diagnoses, planning and supporting technical documentation of contractual assets across Networks and the fleet of Light Rail Vehicles. At times, this role will require a hands-on approach working alongside members of the Asset team to ensure the fleet of Light Rail Vehicles Perform at peak levels
What you bring
In addition to your formal qualifications (mechanical, electrical, or related), your background will include a minimum of 2 years of experience working / supporting maintenance activities in a light rail rolling stock environment. This will be supported by significant knowledge / experience associated with developing data, undertaking analysis and providing meaningful reports for maintenance planning. You will be a strong communicator and be passionate about driving the team forward to reach the business goals.
