Who we are looking for

We have an ongoing position for a Human Resources Advisor, based in Warrnambool. The hours of duty could be tailored to accommodate your life balance needs ranging from part time to full time (28 to 38 per week). This position comes with a generous salary of $86,275 to $93,801 pro rata p.a. plus superannuation.

As our Human Resources Advisor, you will play a lead role in a wide range of initiatives and outcomes including health and wellbeing, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, as well as recruitment and talent management.

Job Description

What you'll be doing

With the introduction of our people strategy 'We are Wannon,' and enhanced resourcing within the People and Wellbeing team, we have restructured to strengthen our capabilities. This enables us to prioritise the safety and the wellbeing of our people, be future ready and to ensure our people are engaged, valued and recognised.

You'll focus on the successful implementation of our 'We are Wannon' activities, fostering an environment where our employees can be their best. Join us in shaping a workplace where you can grow professionally, have meaningful impact, and work with a dedicated team to deliver exceptional service to our workforce and community.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll:

  • Support and implement strategic initiatives, management plans, and action plans such as our 'We are Wannon' strategy and our gender equality action plan.
  • Deliver recruitment processes to assist our managers with resource planning, recruitment and onboarding.
  • Provide support across the organisation to help foster positive workplace relationships and culture.
  • Coordinate and facilitate projects for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Wellness@Wannon Program.
  • Provide advice on various employee relations issues and people policies, procedures, and internal communication.

We’re looking for someone with

  • Suitable experience or relevant education to effectively apply theoretical or best practice HR approaches.
  • Strong people skills, collaborative approach, and ability to build new relationships.
  • Proven ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to influence outcomes respectfully and collaboratively.
