    We have a permanent and 18-month fixed term opportunity for an Analyst Energy Markets where you will support Water Corporation to achieve its corporate objectives through the delivery of a comprehensive range of analysis and support services in the management of its energy use, energy contracts and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Our team manage the Water Corporation’s electricity contracts and participation in the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM). With over 2500 sites, we are a big consumer of electricity. We are the team who establish the energy budget and prepare federal reporting of our energy usage and emissions.

    You’ll work in a collaborative team, who are cross functionally trained in a range of roles within the Energy Markets and Reporting area. Being a team player will be valued. We analyse energy and operational data and identify strategies to minimise our energy costs. You will work for a Leader who allows you to run your projects in your way. He is not set in processes but rather outcomes focused. Expectations will be set, and you will use your strengths to achieve results.

    What the role will involve

    • Analysis of operational energy and electricity market data to identify opportunities to improve energy cost and environmental performance
    • Effective engagement with internal stakeholders to provide advice and expertise on energy markets, costs and GHG emissions and regulations
    • Responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining records/reports to meet both internal and external requirements
    • Work collaboratively with the team and subject matter experts to understand key business drivers related to energy and emissions.
    • Engage with our energy retailers and market stakeholders to manage contracts and validate invoices and energy charges

    Key skills and experience

    You’ll have a STEM or Finance degree, along with considerable experience working in energy and greenhouse gas management or a relevant field. Your ability undertake analysis of complex problems, prepare & present technical data at all levels, and collaborate and influence with both internal and external stakeholders will ensure success in this role.
