Location: Orange

Salary range starting from: $95,764.00 + Super

Tenure:Full Time, Permanent

What we are looking for:

  • A strong desire to contribute your skills and expertise to our business  

  • Someone who is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent / identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted as such by the community in which they were born, has lived or currently lives  

  • A commitment to promoting and preserving Aboriginal culture and value 

  • Undergraduate degree or Diploma of Water Industry Operations, Science, Engineering, Asset Management, or equivalent experience in an appropriate field 

  • Competent knowledge and use of various tools including battery operated tools and general tools used in the construction industry

  • Awareness of and interest in natural resource management, particularly water

  • Computer literacy and ability to interpret data, work with specialist databases and monitor network performance.

  • Current NSW Drivers Licence

  • Desirable: Experience using Hydstra database, strong swimming ability, Boat License, row a boat/kayak, work at heights, heavy lifting, and ability in driving four-wheel drive vehicles

What you will work on:

  • Collect, process and manage Hydrometric surface water, groundwater and water quality monitoring data from a large remote monitoring network

  • Collect water quality samples as requested by internal or external stakeholders within assigned sites and in accordance with quality guidelines and relevant procedures

  • Install, manage and maintain monitoring equipment and infrastructure to prescribed standards

  • Report on the performance of water monitoring sites from telemetered/non-telemetered datasets and seek instrumentation advice to identify/resolve issues

  • A willingness to travel overnight to remote/isolated locations throughout NSW

  • Contribute to continual improvement of the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance systems, audit programs and development of work instructions and procedures.
